A group of 32 current and retired Air Force engineers and architects, both military and civilian, gathered in October for their annual 4-day golf and camaraderie event. This group of “triathletes” affectionately known as “Ducks” has been getting together with an evolving and growing membership since 1993, flapping their wings in locations such as Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Pinehurst, N.C. They recently shifted their migration further south to Destin, Fla., under the stewardship of Col. Sal Nodjomian, USAF (Ret.), who previously served as the Air Base Wing Commander at Eglin.
Upon completion of this year’s event, the group voted to make a donation at the Silver Level to Quality Life Plus (QL+) through SAME. The donation was made on behalf of Bob Moore, a long-time member of the group who passed away earlier this year.
SAME collects contributions for QL+ to enable the organization to continue its important work of improving the quality of life for those injured in the line of duty. To find out more about SAME Wounded Warrior Initiative and QL+ Program, go to same.org/woundedwarrior.
