The 2014 Critical Infrastructure Symposium was held April 7-8 in Colorado Springs, Colo. The annual event, now in its fifth year, is a collaborative learning community of students, educators, practitioners and government officials engaged in developing the next generation of critical infrastructure protection and resilience leaders, technologies and strategies.
As part of this year’s CIS, attendees had the opportunity to tour Waldo Canyon, the site of the devastating 2012 wildfires. The group included cadets from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and their instructor Lt. Col. Steve Hart, P.E., USA. The cadets from West Point as well as future airmen from the U.S. Air Force Academy presented research papers at the Symposium on a number of topics pertaining to resilience. CIS also featured numerous technical sessions, an awards presentation, and networking opportunities. The event will return to West Point in 2015.
CIS is co-hosted by The Infrastructure Security Partnership and the Society of American Military Engineers. For more information, visit www.tisp.org.
