SAME Sturgis Medal recipients announced at Ft Leonard Wood, Mo.

First awarded in 1955, the SAME Sturgis Medal is given to three U.S. Army personnel (Active, Reserve and National Guard) for their outstanding contributions to military troop construction and/or base maintenance by demonstrated technical and leadership ability. The medal is awarded annually in recognition of the recipient’s contributions and accomplishments from the previous year.

Congratulations to Sgt. First Class Robert E. McEntire, Staff Sgt. Connie Cavanaugh and Sgt. Pierre R. Laroussini for being honored as the 2011 Sturgis Medal awardees! The three U.S. Army officers accepted the 2011 Sturgis Award Certificates at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. on April 21, 2012. Medals will be presented during the 2012 Joint Engineer Training Conference & Expo (JETC) on May 22-25 at the America Center in St. Louis, Mo.

Staff Sgt. Connie Cavanaugh received the 2011 SAME Sturgis Medal for her accomplishments and contributions to military troop construction and base maintenance.

 

Sgt. Pierre R. Laroussini, NG, 231st Survey and Design Team, Gulfport, Miss.

Staff Sgt. Pierre R. Laroussini accepted the Sturgis Award Certificate during the 2012 ENFORCE in Ft. Leonard Wood.
