SAME young members attend ELA Conference in Reston, Va.

On Sept. 11-13, SAME young members attended the 5th annual Emerging Leaders Alliance (ELA) Conference in Reston, Va. SAME sponsored the young members to attend the three-day leadership conference which included session topics such as Global & Virtual Team Leadership, Change Management, How to Lead as a Volunteer, Making the Transition from Technical to Management, Leading Innovation and more.
Executive Director Dr. Robert D. Wolff, P.E., F.SAME and SAME President Tony Leketa, P.E., F.SAME, SES (Ret.), hosted a dinner to welcome the attendees, who flew in from different parts of the country. The sponsored young members were chosen by their Regional Posts through a nomination process based on eligibility and selection criteria including demonstrated leadership qualities. The sponsorship covered lodging, airfare and local transportation costs.
